Make Money Blogging – Step 3: Choosing a Blogging Platform

Choosing a Blogging Platform

Choosing a blogging platform is probably the easiest step in the process of starting your blog, because although there are tons of blogging platforms to choose from, most bloggers choose either WordPress.com, WordPress.org, or Blogger.com. Obviously you can choose whichever platform you like, but these three are the most popular, and with good reason. Blogger.com is powered by none other than Google itself. If you choose Blogger.com you will have a definite advantage when it comes to getting indexed very quickly. Also Blogger.com blogs are more secure than WordPress blogs, which really just means you’ll get less spam in your comment area, than you will with a WordPress blog. On the flip side, Blogger.com is not the place to start a blog that you plan to scale up to a larger business. The first, and most important downside to choosing Blogger.com as your blogging platform, is that you don’t really own your blog if it’s hosted on Blogger.com, Google does. So if you do anything Google does not like, your blog will be removed, along with all the hard work you invested in creating your blog. Here is a great comparison chart that breaks down all the pros and cons of each service to make this decision quick and painless.

Whatever you choose, don’t waste too much time on this step. It’s much more important to get started on your blog so you can start making money quickly. If you decide to use WordPress I can help you get your blog up and running in less than one hour from now.

Follow these simple steps to get your blog setup using WordPress.org.
